Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist, Starship Child Health, NZ
Dr Craig McCaffer is a Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, with a clinical practice encompassing general paediatric ENT, complex airway, aerodigestive and swallowing disorders.
Craig graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009 and completed his specialist ORL-HNS training in Newcastle, UK. He was awarded FRCS (ORL-HNS) in 2021 before moving to New Zealand to undertake a Paediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship at Starship Children’s Hospital, subsequently joining the consultant team. |

He is a founding and ongoing member of the Starship Aerodigestive Programme, providing multidisciplinary care for children with complex airway, respiratory, feeding and swallowing disorders. He is also Fellowship Co-Director for the Starship Paediatric ORL Fellowship Programme and a Trainee Supervisor for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ Training, Education and Accreditation Committee (TEAC).
Craig has a strong interest in medical education and training and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. He is actively involved in the supervision and teaching of medical students, junior doctors, ORL trainees, fellows, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
