Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children; GOS UCL Institute of Child Health, University College London, UK Ben Hartley Senior Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK. He is also Associate Professor at UCL GOS Institute of Child Health University College London.
He has specialized in Paediatric Head and Neck and airway surgery and has extensive experience of surgery for paediatric malformations, tumours and airways disease. He trained in general surgery then otolaryngology in London then took the US medical licensing examinations and travelled to the USA to be Clinical Fellow in 1999-2000 with Dr Robin Cotton at Cincinnati Children’s hospital. He returned to London and was appointed in 2001 at Great Ormond Street Hospital. |
He is Fellowship Program Director at Great Ormond Street hospital and has trained over 40 fellows (both National and International) in paediatric otolaryngology.
He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers, multiple book chapters and reviews for several journals.
He has taught extensively on paediatric airway surgical courses and pioneered using Live and Cadaveric animal models most recently as senior faculty on the Great Ormond Street Paediatric Airway Course for the last 5 years.
He is Past President of The British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngologists, honorary Fellow of the South African ORLHNS and Hong Kong ORL Societies.
