Dr Alice Stringer

Dr Alice Stringer is an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeon based in Wellington, New Zealand, with subspecialty expertise in otology, hearing implantation surgery, balance and vertigo disorders, and lateral skull base surgery. She has a particular interest in the management of complex ear disease and the application of innovative surgical techniques to improve patient outcomes.

Dr Stringer holds a Master of Medical Science with a focus on anatomy, undertaking research into the anatomy of the neck. Her longstanding interest in anatomy continues to inform both her clinical practice and teaching, underpinning her approach to surgical planning and education.

She is a member of the International Working Group on Endoscopic Ear Surgery (IWEEG), reflecting her commitment to advancing contemporary techniques in otology and promoting collaborative international learning.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr Stringer is actively involved in surgical education. As a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Surgical Educators Group, she has worked over recent years to reduce barriers to the implementation of workplace-based assessments within surgical training. Her educational interests focus on making assessment processes more accessible, effective, and meaningful for both trainees and supervisors.
